Christmas is coming

Christmas is only eight days away now!  Today I am showing a new tree skirt I made this year.  I picked some nontraditional Christmas prints in aqua, gold, burgundy, and cream.

The pattern I used was called "Skirting Christmas" by Far-Flung Quilts.  I did add an extra 5-inch border all the way around my tree skirt to make it large enough to fit under our 8-foot tree.

You will note I also strung popcorn and cranberry garland this year for our tree!

Today I am linking up with the Christmas Tree Skirt Round Up at Quiltinglines.com.  I hope you will check out the other Christmas tree skirts that others will be linking up throughout this week leading to Christmas.

Now it's the Girls' turn!

A couple weeks ago on my blog I showed a baby boy version of a quilt I designed that is great for showcasing those fabrics that are just too cute to cut up.  Today I am showing the completed baby girl version of that quilt.  This one features a cute little girl print with butterflies, bees, and flowers.

You will note I used a plaid binding on this one also.  The nice thing about this plaid and the one I used in the boys' version is the plaid is printed on the bias so you don't have to cut bias binding.

Both the boy and the girl version of this baby quilt are available in kits in my quilt shop, Stitchin' It Up Quilt Shop.  You will get the pattern free with the purchase of a kit.  The perfect quilt for that new baby in your life or for a charity quilt.

Friday Fat Quarter Frenzy

Here is the collection we have put together for this week's Friday Fat Quarter Frenzy at Stitchin' It Up Quilt Shop.  This collection of six fat quarters is just $12.00 this week only.

Link Up

I am also linking up today with Michelle at Let's Make Baby Quilts.  Michelle has made a goal to make 50 baby quilts a year, many of which she donates to charity.
